Gold Award Presentation, Buckingham Palace May 17th 2018
Eight of our students received their Gold Awards on a beautiful day in May in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne spoke to the participants about their award and commented on their achievements. The guest speaker was Bonita Norris, the youngest, female, British climber to climb Everest. Bonita presented the certificates and gave an impassioned speech about what makes her climb mountains. From left to right; Dan Farley (2016), Niamh Banks (2014), Ben Riley (2016), Hannah Roe (2016), Alan Lloyd (DofE Manager), Abi Lee (2012), Dan Roskell (2013) and Nicholas Royle (2014). Also present at the award, but unfortunately missed this photocall was Oliver Booth (2017). The number in brackets indicates the year of their expedition. |
